Description

This model represented the pinnacle of development in the renowned Report series of field recorders, manufactured in Germany since the 1960s. It became virtually indispensable for journalists, radio professionals, and intelligence services. In Czechoslovakia, it was widely used in radio and television from the 1970s through the 1990s.
Its compact design allowed it to be worn over the shoulder in a leather case while the reporter conducted interviews—as if carrying a book-sized dictaphone capable of capturing audio with studio-grade fidelity. It offered four tape speeds, enabling both long recordings and top-tier recording and playback quality.
Its robust aluminum body resisted impacts and harsh weather. Reporters carried it in a leather shoulder bag while conducting interviews—as if equipped with a mobile studio housed in a larger book. The device also featured synchronization with film cameras, making it an ideal tool for documentary filmmakers.
Even after decades, many units still operate flawlessly, underscoring the reputation that has followed it through history.
