Description

A fine example of a small home polyphon from a German manufacturer dating back to the late 19th century. This device operates using perforated metal discs and a musical movement. Each hole on the disc triggers a mechanism in the cylinder with small protrusions, which then strike tuned metal reeds, producing the instrument's characteristic "angelic" sound.
The exhibit also features a trademark on the inside. Accompanying the device is a stylishly matching box, designed to store the perforated discs containing additional melodies.
