Description

An example of a large German polyphon from the late 19th century, housed in a beautiful walnut cabinet. Its design accommodates even large perforated discs, ensuring they fit seamlessly during play. Truly the jukebox of its time, it was cherished not only in the homes of affluent city dwellers but also especially in taverns, where it brought a novel form of musical entertainment.
The inside of the lid reveals a romantic illustration depicting innocent children—a symbolic analogy to the lives of adults enjoying music.
