This gramophone, of unknown origin, is one of thousands that have survived to this day. During the boom of gramophone technology, countless enthusiasts emerged, designing and building their own devices. Some may have had ambitious and grand visions, but for various reasons, they never fully realized them. And of the few that were successfully completed, perhaps only one made it to the present day.
Nevertheless, it serves as a testament to and a memory of a time when there was worldwide excitement for recording and playing sound at the beginning of the last century. Our particular example is distinguished by its pink horn—after which we have named it—and the dark decorative finish of its cabinet.
