Description

"Picoleta—your guarantee of satisfaction! Luxurious yet affordable." That’s how the advertisement wooed its customers back in the day. Promising to refresh and delight you after a long day, this charming radio invited listeners to explore worlds of beauty and discovery. And it worked! The Picoleta became the top-selling radio of the Radio Havel company.
Priced at 1,390 Kč, the Picoleta was not only easy on the ears but also a feast for the eyes. Its beautifully crafted cabinet design earned it a place among the finest Czech radios. Nestled inside its elegant enclosure was a magnetic speaker from Susaphon, a beloved Czech brand based at Klimentská Street No. 13 in Prague. Incidentally, the same address also housed another intriguing company, Radio Titan, which developed radios of its own.
The Picoleta came in several slightly different versions, in both light and dark finishes. Sadly, some of these variants now exist only in old photographs, but their legacy as a pinnacle of Czech radio craftsmanship lives on.
