Description

The Amorette model, crafted by the German company Leipziger Musikwerke Euphonik, is a prime example of a simple polyphon in black, free from excessive ornamentation. Polyphons were essentially the jukeboxes of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, widely popular in taverns and public spaces. They played the popular music of the time, creating a lively and inviting atmosphere.
To operate the polyphon, one would insert a perforated zinc disc—what we would now call a record—turn the concealed mechanism with a crank, and let the entertainment begin!
