Description

The telephone set from the renowned Swedish company Ericsson, affectionately known as the “Skeleton,” lives up to its name. The phone features no casing to hide its inner workings—bell coils, terminals, bowls—all left boldly exposed for the eye to admire.
This iconic and much-loved model ranks among the earliest desk telephones produced by Ericsson in the early 1890s. It became so popular that multiple companies in Germany and Austria obtained licenses to manufacture their own versions.
Our exhibit is in outstanding condition, preserving all its original decorations and detailing. It includes its own battery, and calls were connected manually through an operator at the central switchboard.
