The Geloso 600 was an Italian semi-professional field recorder that entered the market in the mid-1960s. The manufacturer was well known for its resistance to stereo technology—while the rest of the world was gradually transitioning to four-track tape recorders, Geloso continued producing two-track mono devices.
This model was essentially the younger sibling of the popular Geloso 257, but featured a simpler construction and lacked a tape movement indicator, which meant users had no visual confirmation that the tape was advancing during recording or playback.
Despite this, Geloso tape recorders were widely favored by radio presenters and DJs, primarily due to their reliability and straightforward operation.
