Description

Arthur Atwater Kent began manufacturing radios in 1922, and the model 4340 A was among the very first to hit the American market under his name. A masterpiece of ingenuity, this radio stood out in every way. While most manufacturers were busy hiding electronic components inside boxes and chests, Kent’s design team took the opposite approach. They embraced the visual allure of the components themselves, elegantly arranging them on a wooden board—and the result was absolutely stunning.
Of course, Kent eventually transitioned to cabinet-style designs like many others, but the uniqueness of the 4340 A continues to shine even a century later, celebrating the creativity and innovation of its time.
